In this episode, Tim & Doug present another incredibly motivating 30 minutes of audio about how we fall into the trap of procrastinating and putting things off with excuses and lies that we tell ourselves.
In this episode Tim shares a story of a business owner who was in hustle mode, working non-stop, living fast and hard but he was also drained and unable to appreciate his success and everything good in his life. His thoughts were telling him things like “you have to take the rough with the smooth” or “Life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows”. This is something we can all relate to, phrases we were brought up hearing and have become ingrained in our psyche. Tim argues that this doesn’t have to be the way and asks why can’t we just have the good??
In this episode, Tim & Doug discuss a real-life example of a man they spoke with who felt everything around him was the reason he was unfulfilled. He blamed the location in which he was based, the people and other external factors for all that was wrong in his life, avoiding the real issue, which was himself!
In this episode, Tim & Doug share personal stories and actionable techniques on how to master the art of appreciation to benefit you and the people around you. Tim shares “The power of the basics”, explaining how he has seen people who work extremely hard but no matter how much they achieve it’s never enough. Going back to basics was the answer to being able to practice appreciation. Listen now to find out how you can start feeling more appreciative with some really simple and basic steps.
Mental health among young people is at an all-time low. Tim & Doug try to trace why so many people can relate to having being passed on the demons of their parents and present a fascinating theory of how what it meant to be a man was very different in previous generations and this has had a long lasting effect that is taking its toll on the young people of this generation.
In this episode, Doug shares a story of someone who came to him with a troubled relationship from which Doug was able to identify a clear pattern which was occurring not just in this man’s current relationship but also in previous ones. The man was giving everything in his relationship, but in turn never felt like he was getting enough back.
So many people struggle with structure and organization in their business and personal lives because they have failed to create good boundaries. If you have no boundaries or structure your life and business is freewheeling, you will never know what to say yes or no to and you will fall into the trap of people pleasing and other peoples schedules and priorities will run your life instead.
Like in any relationship, if you hold back on how you are really feeling for fear of upsetting your partner, it always gets bottled up and these bottled up emotions will always come out at some point in a much more explosive way than if you tackle the issue there and then.
Understanding how fear can hold you back is the key to getting past this block. It’s in our nature to think that once we have achieved our goals that we then reach the end point, and it’s also natural for us not to want to reach the end of our purpose because, what would we do then?
Often leaders or business owners can wear a mask that shows them off to be the type of person they think they SHOULD be, however behind closed doors and inside their own heads, they are somebody completely different. They are somebody with huge doubts and insecurities that they don’t want others to see as in case it’s perceived as a weakness.
In this episode, Tim & Doug ask Are you paying the price for past mistakes? Past mistakes or negatives in our lives have a tendency to stay within us in some way and unless you address them and forgive yourself for them they can sabotage your future progress. So many of us go through life without realizing that we are making the same mistakes repeatedly.
In this episode Tim & Doug examine the nature of courage and try to answer the question; What is courage in the modern society?
Courage is something we hear about so often but do we really understand it. It’s something that we all have within us, but some use tap into it better than others and the benefits can be huge. Once you understand the true meaning of courage, you too can learn how to train yourself to be more courageous.
